Delaware Valley's future a question mark

DOYLESTOWN — Delaware Valley College has reached a crossroads.

This opinion might seem, at first read, as a knee-jerk reaction to the Aggies’ 38-14 loss Saturday to Franklin & Marshall in the Eastern College Athletic Conference Southeast Bowl, 10 years and a day after the program made its first postseason appearance, a 54-37 home victory in the same ECAC Southeast Bowl over The College of New Jersey.

But make no mistake about it.

They are there.

The past 11 seasons have been the best of times at DelVal, with 99 football wins beginning in 2003, including a 10-7 postseason record from five appearances each in the NCAA Division III playoffs and various ECAC South-region bowl games.

To find the previous 99 wins for the program before 2003 — thanks to DelVal associate athletic director Matt Levy’s referencing the media guide — go back 29 seasons, to a 19-13 victory at Lycoming in late 1974.
