Lebanon Valley's Miller, Smith Accept Dream Bowl Invitations

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - Lebanon Valley College wide receiverJoey Miller and nose tackle Kevin Smith have accepted invitations to play in the Dream Bowl senior all-star game.
The Dream Bowl will be played Jan. 20, 2014 at the Virginia Beach Sportsplex, showcasing the top seniors from NCAA Division III. In its second year, the game and the series of events held over Martin Luther King Weekend is a celebration of the excellence, commitment, and sacrifice made by the players and their families.

Both Miller and Smith were instrumental in leading Lebanon Valley (8-3) to the Middle Atlantic Conference championship and their first-ever NCAA Tournament appearance. Lebanon Valley earned its first national ranking during the course of the season, as well.

Miller is a two-time all-MAC honoree, catching 28 passes for 521 yards and four touchdowns this season, averaging 18.6 yards per catch. He had his biggest output in LVC's biggest games, including a seven-catch, 103-yard effort at Delaware Valley and a 72-yard, one-touchdown performance in the NCAA Tournament against Wittenberg. In his career, Miller caught 98 passes for 1,512 yards and 15 touchdowns, averaging 15.4 yards per catch.

Smith, a two-year team-captain, was twice named first-team all-MAC and earned a D3football.com Second-Team All-East honor this season. He anchored an outstanding LVC defensive line with 61 tackles and 2.0 sacks in 2013, with his best game coming in a 10-tackle, 2.0-sack performance in LVC's upset of #24 Lycoming. In his career, Smith started 32 times and racked up 197 tackles, 14.0 tackles for loss, and 7.5 sacks with six batted passes.
