WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – After tying the school’s career rushing touchdowns mark in the first game of the season, senior Craig Needhammer (Lansdale, Pa./North Penn) has earned a spot on the Middle Atlantic Conference’s weekly honor roll, the conference office in Annville, Pa., announced on Sunday, Sept. 7.

Needhammer finished with 23 carries for 111 yards and three touchdowns in the Warriors’ season-opening 42-13 win over Susquehanna. He topped 100 yards for the third time in his career and scored on runs of one, one and two yards. He tied the school record for career rushing touchdowns of 29 set by Tim Deasey from 1998-01 with his final score with 12:10 left in the fourth quarter.

Needhammer also became the fourth running back in school history to cross 2,500 career rushing yards in the contest.

It is the third time in his career that Needhammer earned a slot on the weekly honor roll, earning mention twice during the 2013 season. He was also named the MAC Offensive Player fo the Week once during the 2012 season.

The Warriors get back on the field on Saturday, Sept. 13, when they head to Albright for the Middle Atlantic Conference opener at 1 p.m.
