Stevenson Football - Trey Lee Totals Three TDs in Season-Opening 40-19 Win at N.C. Wesleyan

ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. - Stevenson football sophomore Trey Lee totaled three touchdowns and rushed for 111 yards as the Mustangs racked up 468 yards of total offense, including 297 rushing on 48 attempts en route to a 40-19 road victory over N.C. Wesleyan Saturday night at Rocky Mount Athletic Stadium.

Stevenson (1-0) is now 2-2 in season openers, having won back-to-back against the Bishops.

The Mustangs also improved to 4-0 all-time when they score at least 40 points, having achieved the feat three times in the last nine games.

Following a 9-yard run by freshman Jeff Farrah, Stevenson led 21-7 with 7:14 remaining in the second quarter. N.C. Wesleyan answered with 60-yard kickoff return by Malik Adams which set the team up for a 3-play, 29-yard drive capped by a 17-yard pass from Robbie Lanier to John Young to pull the Bishops within 21-13.

Special teams also led to N.C. Wesleyan's first score as Jacques Alston returned a kickoff 93 yards for a touchdown immediately after the Mustangs took a 7-0 lead.

Holding an eight-point lead with 5:49 left int he second quarter, Stevenson scored 19 of the game's final 25 points to snap a three-game road losing streak.

In his first collegiate start, Farrah completed 14-of-23 pass attempts for 131 yards and one touchdown before leaving the game at halftime. Senior Zach Jeffersonplayed the entire second half and was 3-of-4 for 40 yards and one score.

Senior Marcus Holley totaled 60 yards rushing on just eight carries as he and Lee accounted for 171 yards rushing after the duo was one of just eight in Division III to each rush for over 650 yards last season.

Defensively, the Mustangs allowed just 33 yards rushing while holding the Bishops to just 5-of-12 on third-down conversions. They also racked up six sacks.
