ANNVILLE (PA) – For the fourth time in as many games this year, a Delaware Valley College player has earned Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Offensive Player of the Week honors. This week, it was senior wideout Rasheed Bailey (Philadelphia, PA/Roxborough) for his record-setting performance in the Aggies’ 56-24 home triumph over Albright College on October 4.

It’s the second time that Bailey has been honored by the conference this year as he received the award for week one when he tied a school-record with 11 catches for 216 yards and one touchdown in Delaware Valley’s 30-20, season-opening win at Montclair State University on September 4 (tailback Chris Smallwood was the MAC Offensive Player of the Week following the win over Wilkes University on September 20 while quarterback Aaron Wilmer earned it seven days later in the victory over Lebanon Valley College).

This time, Bailey hauled in nine passes for 252 yards and four touchdowns. The yardage total broke the previous school record of 251 set by the late Don Marshall in a 2005 contest at Juniata College. Meanwhile, the four receiving scores tied Delaware Valley single-game mark for the second week in a row as Bailey reached the end zone four times in a 59-41 at defending conference champion Lebanon Valley.

For the season, Bailey has 28 catches for 708 yards (25.3 avg) and nine trips to the end zone. His average of 177 receiving yards per game leads all of Division III while his receiving touchdown total is second behind only Matt Boyne of Gustavus Adolphus, who has 11 scores.
Delaware Valley will now prepare for a “battle of the unbeatens” as the 4-0 (3-0 MAC) Aggies host 17th-ranked Lycoming College, which is 5-0 overall and 4-0 in the conference. The game is set for Homecoming on Saturday, October 11 with a noon start.
