Widener Football - Seith Klein named to MAC Weekly Honor Roll

Annville, PA (Nov. 10, 2014) – Sophomore quarterback Seth Klein (Wernersville, PA/Wilson West Lawn) had yet another solid week for Widener’s 11th-ranked football team and was cited by the Middle Atlantic Conference for the third time in 2014, this time to the league’s Weekly Honor Roll.

Klein is third in school history with 434 
completions, sixth with 42 touchdown passes


Klein completed 14-of-21 passes for 291 yards and two touchdowns in Widener’s 55-6 rout of King’s.  Klein in the first half completed 9-of-14 passes for 208 yards with eight different players getting a reception to help the Pride open a 42-0 lead.

Klein has been on a tear this season, one year after being tabbed the MAC and ECAC South Offensive Rookie of the Year. He is 18th in the country with 25 touchdown passes, 37th with 253.3 passing yards per game, 38th with a .631 completion percentage and 51st with 258.3 yards of total offense per contest.

Owner of many stellar games this year, Klein threw for a season-best 378 yards against Albright to make the league’s weekly honor roll and tied a school record with six touchdown passes vs. Wilkes to be tabbed MAC and ECAC Offensive Player of the Week.

Klein is third in school history with 434 completions, sixth with 42 touchdown passes and seventh with 5,089 passing yards.

Widener (9-0, 8-0 MAC), which entered tops in the country in rushing defense, moved to 9-0 for the eighth time in school history.  It also was ranked third last week in the first NCAA East Regional Rankings of the year.

Widener is home Saturday for Senior Day and its regular-season finale vs. 17th-ranked Delaware Valley (9-0, 8-0) at 1:00 pm with both the MAC title and an automatic berth into the NCAA Tournament at stake.  It is the first meeting between the schools with both possessing a 9-0 record.
