DANBURY, Conn. - Three days after being named the Middle Atlantic Conference Defensive Player of the Week, Stevenson football senior Brady Kempa was named the ECAC Division III South Defensive Player of the Week announced on Wednesday.

Kempa is the second Mustang in five seasons to be honored by the ECAC. Kicker Garrett Perau was selected as the ECAC Division III South Honorable Mention Player of the Week on Sept. 13, 2011.

In his first career start, Kempa finished with two interceptions and nine tackles, including five solo, to help lead the Mustangs to a 20-9 victory over N.C. Wesleyan. His two interceptions were returned for a combined 49 yards and were two of three turnovers the Stevenson defense forced.

The Mustangs host their season opener on Saturday, September 12 when they host Lycoming in a Middle Atlantic Conference contest beginning at 1:00 p.m. The Warriors have won all four meetings between the two teams.
