Cassano Named to Footballgameplan.com All-American Team

READING, Pa. -- Albright senior offensive lineman Jonni Cassano has been selected as a preseason All-American by Footballgameplan.com the organization announced on Wednesday.

It marks the third preseason honor for Cassano who also was named preseason All-American by D3football.com and Lindy's.

Cassano, who was named a captain for the 2016 season, anchored an offensive line that helped the Lions lead the conference last year averaging 35.2 points per game. Albright finished the season with a 10-2 overall record and advanced to the second round of the NCAA playoffs and won the MAC championship with an 8-1 record.

Cassano earned honorable mention All-American honors from D3football.com last season and was also named Second Team All-ECAC South, Second Team All-East Region by D3football.com and First Team All-MAC.

Albright, which is ranked 16th in the nation in the D3football.com preseason poll, opens the 2016 season on Sept. 2 at Salisbury.
