The Devils show support for Landon Doychak in his fight with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy
MADISON, N.J. -- The Fairleigh Dickinson University-Florham football team spent Friday, Sept. 23rd's practice working to tackle Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, as part of Coach to Cure MD week.

FDU-Florham hosted Landon Doychak, a local 9-year old who suffers from Duchenne, for a special day where he was able to run plays with the team and become an honorary Devil at Robert T. Shields Field.

Doychak and the Devils were joined by former New York Giants' William Roberts and Bob Kratch, alongside "Miami" Mike Minervini, owner of Miami Mike's Sports Zone, who was pivotal in organizing the event.

"What an honor and privilege it was for our entire football program to be a part of Landon's special day," said Devils Head Coach Brian Surace. "The love and courage that he, along with his family, displays in the face of this disease, are an inspiration to our entire FDU football program."

Doychak also joined the FDU-Florham last weekend during their home game against Widener University.

"We are the lucky ones to have had Landon and his family enter our lives and become part of our FDU football family," Surace said.

The Devils take on Stevenson University in Stevenson, MD in a conference match up Saturday at noon.

The Coaches will wear a Coach to Cure MD logo patch during the game as part of a national American Football Coaches Association campaign.

Donations can be made online to www.CoachtoCureMD.org to support the fight to end Duchenne.
