DARDEN NAMED MAC OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

ANNVILLE (PA) – Delaware Valley University junior quarterback Dashawn Darden (Norristown, PA/Cardinal O’Hara) has been selected as the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Offensive Player of the Week following his performance in the 47-13 victory over Widener University that clinched the conference championship and NCAA playoff berth.

Darden did most of his damage with his legs as he rushed for 133 yards and four touchdowns while also throwing a 25-yard scoring pass. His touchdown runs went for 17, 28, 11 and 1 yard(s). The second score gave DelVal the lead for good at 14-13 and was part of 41 unanswered points by the Aggies.

DelVal improved to a perfect 10-0 overall and 9-0 in MAC play with the win. It sealed the team’s seventh conference title since 2004 and a seventh trip to the NCAAs (first since 2014). The Aggies will host Western New England University in a first-round NCAA match-up on Saturday, November 18 (12 p.m.).
