Albright's Baylor, Boyce Selected as Southern NJ Players of the Year

READING, Pa. – Albright senior football players Isaiah Baylor and Kali Boyce were both selected as College Players of the Year by the Touchdown Club of Southern New Jersey. The pair will be among four college players and several high school players honored during the organization's awards banquet on Thursday night.


As a yearly custom, the club will be honoring Backs of the Year, Linemen of the Year, Special Teams Player of the Year, Scholar Athlete, and a Coach of the Year from its 37 member schools throughout Southern New Jersey. 

Baylor, from Runnemede, N.J., and Triton Regional High School, ended his Albright career with 136 tackles and 31.5 tackles for loss. He completed his career with 13.5 sacks and a career-high seven sacks in 2017. Baylor finished the season as the national leader in forced fumbles, forcing six during the 2017 campaign. He also finished 19th in the country in tackles for loss. He was named All-MAC First Team.

Baylor had his best game of the 2017 season in a come-from-behind win at King's. He won both ECAC and MAC Player of the Week awards for his 12 tackles, three sacks, five tackles for loss, forced fumble and fumble recovery in that victory.

Boyce, from Williamstown, N.J., and Williamstown High School, led the MAC and finished tied for 16th in the NCAA with six interceptions in 2017. He had two interceptions in a game at Stevenson in October, and he was named MAC Defensive Player of the Week following a two-takeaway performance in the team's victory over Lebanon Valley. He was named All-MAC Second Team, and he ended his Albright career with nine interceptions.
