MU's Ameen, Puckett Named to All-MAC Football Team

Annville, PA - John Ameen (Pittston Township, PA/Pittston) and Jeff Puckett (Dunellen, NJ/Dunellen), members of the Misericordia University football team, have been named to the All-MAC Football team.

Ameen was named to the second-team as an offensive lineman while Puckett earned honorable mention at quarterback.

Ameen, a sophomore, earned All-MAC status for the second straight season after earning honorable mention a year

He started all 10 games at right guard while anchoring an offensive line that produced the top rushing offense in the MAC.

The Cougars led the MAC with 2,782 rushing yards (278.2 per game) and 29 rushing touchdowns.

Misericordia set a MAC single-game rushing record in their season opener against Gettysburg with 587 yards on the ground.

Puckett, a sophomore quarterback, led the MAC in rushing and finished 20th in the nation with 1,300 yards.  He also led the MAC and tied for 10th in the nation with 19 rushing touchdowns.

Puckett had five 100-yard games on the year, including 301 yards in the season opener, the sixth-highest single-game total in MAC history.

He scored a MAC record six touchdowns in the season finale win over FDU-Florham while tying the MAC record with 36 points.

Puckett added 875 passing yards and five touchdowns with a 54.7% completion rate (81-148).
