Gaffney, Kozub, Smith Earn All-East Honors

ANNVILLE, Pa. - Junior linebacker Frank Gaffney, senior left guard Brendan Kozub, and senior nose tackle Kevin Smith have been named all-East by

Gaffney and Kozub earned first-team all-East honors, while Smith was named to the second team. All three were also first-team all-MAC selections, and will move onto the ballot for all-America consideration.

All three were instrumental in capturing Lebanon Valley's first MAC title in 44 years as they went 8-3 and earned the program's first-ever spot in the NCAA Tournament. LVC's three selections ties its program high
, with three each selected in 2010 and 2011.

Gaffney led the nation in solo sacks, recording 13.0 overall, and led Lebanon Valley with 82 tackles, including 60 solo stops, and 19.5 tackles for a loss. His sack total set a program single-season record. A disruptive force all over the field, he also broken up five passes and on special teams, he blocked three PATs. Gaffney was a two-time MAC Defensive Player of the Week and three-time Team of the Week honoree this season.

Kozub, a senior captain, led an offensive line that was one of the MAC's best. Kozub started all 11 games at left guard and helped LVC rank third in the MAC with 207.5 yards rushing per game while allowing just 15 sacks in pass protection during the regular season. Kozub did not allow a sack individually as the o-line's top pass protector.

Smith, also a senior captain, anchored an outstanding defensive line at nose tackle with 61 tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss and 2.0 sacks. He had three batted passes and six hurries this season, and graduates as a two-time First-Team All-MAC selection.
