New head coach Duke Greco and the Delaware Valley College football team has announced its schedule for the upcoming 2014 season, including the first home night game in school history.

Greco is expecting 14 starters back from last year’s squad with six on the offensive side, seven on the defensive side and one kicker.

Greco, a former all-conference quarterback and 2003 graduate of Delaware Valley was promoted to head coach of his alma mater in March after an 11-year stint as an assistant coach, including the last eight as assistant head coach and offensive coordinator.

Greco will make his head coaching debut on Saturday, September 6 when the Aggies travel to Montclair State University (Montclair, NJ) for the team’s only non-conference game of the season. Delaware Valley and the Red Hawks have not met on the gridiron since 2000 when the Aggies dropped a 14-13, double-overtime decision.

Delaware Valley will then have an early bye week before hitting the grind of nine straight Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) contests. And the first will be a history-making affair for the Aggies as they will host Wilkes University under the new lights at Robert A. Lipinski Field at James Work Memorial Stadium on Saturday, September 20. The first home night game – which will also be the annual Hall of Fame Game (induction ceremony at halftime) - will start at 7:00 p.m. and it will be under a Colonels’ squad that went 4-6 last season.

The first conference road game will follow the next Saturday, September 27 when Delaware Valley heads to Annville, Pennsylvania to battle defending MAC champion Lebanon Valley College. The Flying Dutchmen went 8-3 overall a season ago, including a 34-31 overtime decision against the Aggies.
