Ryan O’Hara
Annville, PA (Sept. 15, 2014) – Widener junior kicker Ryan O’Hara (Royersford, PA/Spring-Ford) enjoyed a perfect day Saturday and was rewarded by being named the Middle Atlantic Conference Special Teams Player of the Week.

O’Hara went 5-for-5 on extra points and also averaged 57.6 yards per kickoff in Widener’s 45-3 league triumph over Lebanon Valley.

It was another stellar day for the second-year kicker, who the week before averaged 62.8 yards per kickoff that included a touchback in Widener’s 19-7 upset of No. 15 Rowan.

O’Hara last season drilled 39 extra points that were the fourth most in one season in school history, including eight vs. FDU-Florham for the eighth most in team annals.  He also drilled seven field goals, just five short of reaching the school’s top three in Widener’s single-season records.

Widener just learned it moved to 24th in the country according to, one week after receiving the most votes of any team not in the top 25.

Widener plays its home opener Saturday against Albright, starting at 1:00 pm.
