Annville, PA – Senior All-America Anthony Davis (Upland, PA/Chester) continued to shine and break more records in being named to the Middle Atlantic Conference Football Weekly Honor Roll.

Davis had seven receptions for 136 yards and broke the school’s career receptions record in Widener’s 19-7 upset of No. 15 Rowan.  Davis’ tiebreaker came on a 59-yard catch and he now has 194 career receptions, breaking the mark of 188 held by Tyreak Saviour (2001-04).

Davis is no stranger to receiving awards.  Among his accolades from last season include being namedBeyond Sports Network and first team All-America, ECAC South and Middle Atlantic Conference Offensive Player of the Year and for the third straight season was picked first team All-MAC.

Earlier this summer, Davis was named a preseason All-America by Lindy's Sports Magazine, the Sporting News, and the Beyond Sports Network after being cited by D3Football.comBeyond Sports Network and the Sporting News last year.  He was tabbed by the Beyond Sports Network in 2012.

Davis also is first in school history with 67 kickoff returns and 1,515 kickoff return yards.  He is second with 5,196 all-purpose yards and third with 2,847 receiving yards.

Last season, Davis ended last season sixth in the country with 9.1 receptions per game, 19th with 105.6 receiving yards per game, 29th with 10 touchdown receptions and 48th with 144.0 all-purpose yards per contest.  He also easily broke the school's single-season record with 91 receptions, bettering his own personal high by 27 catches even with all of the extra attention on the field.

Widener is back on the road Saturday to face reigning league champion Lebanon Valley, starting at 1:00 pmin Annville, PA.
