Delaware Valley Football - Aggies still tops in the East in NCAA DIII Regional Rankings

DOYLESTOWN (PA) – The second and final NCAA Division III football regional ranking before the NCAA 32-team championship field is announced Sunday was released Wednesday evening and undefeated Delaware Valley College still holds the number one spot in the East Region.

The top three teams from last week held its spots with Hobart College and Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) archrival Widener University following the Aggies. Delaware Valley and Widener will battle it out for the conference title and an automatic berth to the NCAA tournament this Saturday’s November 15 on the Pride’s home turf. The losing team will have its postseason fate in the hands of the NCAA committee, which will determine the six at-large spots from conference’s that have automatic berths.

The East Region Top 10 is as follows (In-region record, overall record, strength of schedule)

2. Hobart (9-0, 9-0, .498)
3. Widener (9-0, 9-0, .480)
4. Framingham State (8-1, 7-1, .521)
5. Ithaca (7-2, 7-2, .553)
6. St. John Fisher (6-2, 7-2, .582)
7. MIT (8-0, 8-0, .425)
8. St. Lawrence (7-2, 7-2, .578)
9. Rowan (6-3, 6-3, .584)
10. Husson (6-1, 7-1, .386)

Two teams that were regionally-ranked last week and fell out of the 10 were Montclair State and Lycoming. The Aggies defeated both those squads earlier this season.
