ANNVILLE, Pa. - Lebanon Valley College linebacker Frank Gaffney and running back Brendon Irving have been named all-East by

Gaffney repeats as a first-team defensive honoree, while Irving earned a third-team offense spot in his first career all-region recognition.

Gaffney, who played in Sunday's National Bowl senior all-star game in Miami, is a repeat honoree after earning first-team all-East and second-team all-America awards from last year. The repeat Cliff Harris Award nominee played at both outside linebacker spots this season to earn First-Team All-MAC honors for the second straight year. Gaffney led LVC and was fifth in the MAC with 86 tackles, including 9.5 for a loss, and 3.5 sacks. He compiled four 10+ tackle games and earned MAC and ECAC Defensive Player of the Week honors on Oct. 11. Gaffney was named a preseason all-American by five organizations, and was also placed on the CGS All-Star watchlist.

Irving, a first-time honoree, had a breakout sophomore season at running back, ranking second in the MAC with 1,255 yards on the ground. He scored nine touchdowns while ending the season with five straight 100+ yard performances, including a career-high 184 yards at Lycoming. His yardage total was second-most ever by a Dutchman, eclipsing the 1,200-yard mark for only the third time in program history. Irving averaged 5.5 yards per carry in 2014.
