BLOOMINGTON, Minn. -- Albright's, Steve Barroso was named to the Team of the Week the organization announced on Tuesday.

Barroso was instrumental in helping Albright overcome a 23-3 deficit in the fourth quarter in its victory over Salisbury. The senior linebacker had six tackles, 1.0 tackles for loss, broke up a pass and recovered two fumbles in the Lions 24-23 victory against Salisbury in the season opener.

Trailing 23-3 late in the third quarter, Barroso ignited the Lions rally by pouncing on a fumble that led to the Lions first touchdown of the game and cut the lead to 23-10.

Midway though the fourth quarter, Barroso scooped up a fumble at midfield which led to another Albright touchdown to bring the Lions to within 23-17.

He then helped set up the Lions game-winning drive by forcing a Salisbury punt. On a third and seven play, Barroso batted down a pass that forced the Sea Gulls to punt and the Lions scored on their ensuing possession to take a 24-23 lead.

Barroso was one of four linebackers named to the Team of the Week.

Albright returns to action on Sept. 19 when it hosts Widener at 1 p.m. in Shirk Stadium in the Middle Atlantic Conference opener for the Lions.
