Brady Kempa Named MAC Defensive Player of the Week

ANNVILLE, Pa. - Brady Kempa was named Middle Atlantic Conference Defensive Player of the Week on Sunday after helping lead the Mustangs to a 20-9 victory over N.C. Wesleyan at Bishop Stadium on Saturday.

Kempa is the fifth Mustang to win a player of the week honor and third defensive player. He is the first defensive player to win the award since junior Austin Tennessee earned it on Sept. 15, 2013.

In his first career start, Kempa finished with two interceptions and nine tackles, including five solo. His two interceptions were returned for a combined 49 yards and were two of three turnovers the Stevenson defense forced.

The Mustangs host their season opener on Saturday, September 12 when they host Lycoming in a Middle Atlantic Conference contest beginning at 1:00 p.m. The Warriors have won all four meetings between the two teams.
