Tyrone Young has been named to the staff at the Canton U.S. National Team Development Games
WILKES-BARRE — King's College assistant football coach Tyrone Young has been selected to serve on the coaching staff of the 2016 Canton U.S. National Team Development Games. The event is sponsored by USA Football. Players selected to compete attended regional developmental camps around the nation and were evaluated by USA Football as part of the selection process.

Young, who will enter his fourth season at King's as the team's defensive back's coach and recruiting coordinator, will coach the linebackers at the 2016 event. Young will be in North Canton, OH for the event from July 11-16 at Walsh University. Coaching staffs of each squad will consist of one head coach, an offensive and defensive coordinator, and seven position coaches. Two coaching staffs will mentor two different teams during the week. Vincent DiGaetano of Wagner University will serve as head coach of Young's two squads.

Between 90 and 100 players will be part of each team. Defenses will run a base 4-3 while offenses will run a spread formation with one running back. The purpose of the games is to help develop America's next wave of football players through instruction and to also evaluate the USA U-19 Team.

"It's truly an honor to be selected to coach in this event," Young stated. "I have always had coaches who made an impact on my life. That is the way I model my coaching style and just enjoy trying to change lives of young men. This is an opportunity to represent the King's College family, and our football program on a national scale and I am very grateful to have the opportunity to do so."

Young is a 2012 graduate of Kentucky Christian University where he played linebacker. He also played six years of semi-professional football. Young will return to King's as the Monarchs open training camp on August 15.
