MACfb News - If you have ever been to Delaware Valley University to watch an Aggies football game, you have seen the trains passing through on a regular basis. Well, folks, there is another train in town and it scores touchdowns on a regular basis. It is the Aggies of DelVal. And the engineer of this train is Jr. QB Dashawn Darden. He is a talented young man and his size will full the best of defensive players. He has quick speed and can scramble out of most adverse situations. And his accuracy throwing the pigskin on the move is scary for DIII defensive secondary players. No receivers open, no problem because he will tuck the ball under and slam into the D-line if there isn't a crack to squeeze through. Talented, intelligent, savvy and cool under pressure are just a few adjectives to describe this QB.

So, Albright will have their hands full Saturday, October 7th in Reading, PA. This will be the fourth away game for DelVal and they seem to handle trips without affect on their game. Take last Friday as an example as they traveled to Madison, NJ and defeated the FDU-Florham Devils 60-7. They were ahead 34-7 at halftime and added another 24 points to finish the unbalanced contest.

Darden did what he always does, throw the football. He competed 16 out of 20 pass attempts. He hit four touchdown passes and had one interception (2 all year). The need to run was not there as the Devils did not put enough coverage or pressure on Dashawn to abandon the called play. Against Wilkes and Stevenson, he pushed close to 100 yards on the ground and has two rushing touchdowns for the year.

So this week, the Aggies are boarding the train get ready for he showdown of the undefeateds. Dashawn Darden should be ready to engineer this train to victory. It should be a good one so get out there and watch another great MAC DIII football game.
