DOYLESTOWN (PA) – The Delaware Valley University football team is ranked 17th in the 2018 D3football.com preseason top 25 poll.

The Aggies received 208 points in the poll, which is voted on by media members, coaches and sports information directors from across all four regions of NCAA Division III football. They are the lone team in the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) to be listed in the rankings. Defending national champion Mount Union is ranked first while DelVal’s first opponent, Wesley College, is ninth.

It is the third preseason poll that the Aggies are ranked in this year.Street & Smith’s had DelVal 10th while Lindy’s placed the Aggies 19th in their publication.

DelVal is coming off a 2017 campaign that saw the team post a perfect 10-0 mark in the regular season, including a MAC championship. The Aggies were a top seed in one of the NCAA Division III playoff brackets and they won a pair of postseason games before falling on a last-second field goal to Brockport in the quarterfinals. It was the DelVal’s 14th trip to the postseason in the last 15 years.

The Aggies will travel to Wesley (Dover, Delaware) for the season opener on Friday night, August 31 (7 p.m.).
